Howard FriedmanSenior Adviser

Howard has over 20 years’ experience in hospitality and property management at one of the largest hotel and real estate brands in the world.

From 2008 through 2012 he led Elegant Hotels Group in Barbados and completed a full renovation and operational improvement plan to enhance portfolio value in order to maximize exit strategy.

Until 2007 he was the President of Hilton International in UK and Ireland, managing a portfolio of 73 hotels, generating US$2 billion in revenue.

Prior to that Howard held a number of roles with Hilton International, including the President of Hilton International in the Americas between 1997 and 2005. This involved being the key decision maker for 33 hotels based in North America, the Caribbean and Latin America. He has also been the Hilton Group’s Head of Leasing and Property Management, which included managing a portfolio of commercial office space.

Before joining Hilton, Howard was a Vice President at the real estate company, Laramie Dawson in New York, where he specialised in acquisitions, dispositions and property management as well as having financial responsibility for a single family home development subsidiary.

A Chartered Accountant by training, he holds numerous professional qualifications and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
